Tetris, named “one of the most addictive and recognizable games in gaming history”, is about to make its debut on Dish Network’s Interactive TV feature. Listed as Tetris TV on the Dish Network game menu, this game will offer subscribers two different options to play. The first, the original 40 lines, challenges the player to get through the lines as quickly as possible. The second, Marathon, offers 15 levels, each one more challenging than the last.

Dish Network is the first company in the United States to partner with Oberon Media and Tetris TV to bring Tetris to the public in this format. Dish Network subscribers can enjoy this first on their games menu.

The EVP of Direct, Commercial and Advertising Sales for Dish Network, Michael Kelly said, “Tetris is one of the most popular games in history, and we're proud to provide Tetris TV to our customers. The addition of Tetris TV shows our commitment to maintaining worldwide leadership in interactive television and gaming."

This is just one of the Interactive TV options that Dish Network provides. Dish Network Interactive Television offers several different features, like bill pay and auto pay options, or Dish Network Terms of Agreement and other documents, like monthly bills. These options can be set up with the remote, right on the TV screen. Dish Network also provides updates on stock information and personal portfolios, and options to shop, all on the TV. This is in addition to their other services, including DISH Remote, TV Everywhere and over three hundred channels of programming for the children and adults in the house.

Tetris fans will also have the challenge of competing to beat top scores from other players as they are posted on the national boards listed by Oberon Media. High scorers will win prizes awarded by Oberon. Challengers will have the opportunity to test and hone their skills against other players from all over the country.

Blue Planet Software is the company that holds the exclusive right to Tetris. The CEO for Blue Planet Software, Henk Rogers, said, “Working with Oberon Media to release Tetris TV allows us to reach millions of our fans in yet another way. Interactive TV is an exciting venture for us, as we're always hoping to give Tetris players a unique way to enjoy the game on their own and while interacting with each other. What's better, a study published this year by BMC Research Notes showed how playing Tetris can create positive changes in our brains--so we're happy to say that now, with the release of the Tetris TV service, TV could be good for you!”

Dish Network has helped set industry standard for almost 20 years, being the first in the industry to offer award-winning products and services. Now they are the first to offer this service to subscribers in the United States, adding another unique service for Dish Network subscribers to enjoy in the comfort of their homes. Dish Network has the products and services that families can enjoy and afford.
