Now, their next step in customer service is to provide their customers with on-the-spot warnings if the personal computer of a customer is infected with a virus. According to PCMAG.com, this new system for detection and notification is being tested now. The name of this program is the Comcast Constant Guard. Comcast Cable is the first provider to offer this service. For a Comcast Cable customer using this virus detection program, if a virus was found on the computer, a notification window would appear in the customer’s browser with a warning. The customer is then referred to Comcast Cable’s anti-virus center.
According to Mitch Bowling, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Online Services for Comcast Cable, “The Constant Guard security program is the result of many years of working to assemble the right people, technologies and resources to help ensure our customers are protected from hackers and bots in real-time.”
