Many of the usual frustrations and problems that arise from using the Internet can now be avoided by using a high speed Internet connection. When you have access to a higher speed connection and more bandwidth, you can avoid everything from long waits for programs to download to hesitations and stutters in things like podcasts and online videos. This is why broadband cable Internet is becoming such a popular way of accessing the Internet. Comcast has seen a large spike in customers for its high speed Internet service. This has come for two reasons. The first is that high speed Internet has become practically a necessity for getting anything done online and broadband cable Internet is a much more advanced Internet service than DSL. The other reason is that Comcast has made it easy for customers to get broadband cable Internet by combining it with television and phone service in bundled packages. Customers have responded to the ease in getting all three telecommunications services by enthusiastically signing up for all three services.

For people who have switched to broadband cable Internet, the rewards are many. Over the last years, Internet applications have become increasingly complicated. This has caused them to require more bandwidth and a higher speed connection in order to run properly. This is the reason why dial up used to be sufficient for getting online, but no longer is. With more complicated programs and more games, communications tools, and other applications available through the Internet, it is necessary to have plenty of speed in order to properly use the functions. One of the best things about Comcast broadband cable Internet is that it offers enough speed that the service will not be obsolete in just a coupe of years- the way DSL has gone. With broadband cable Internet, there is enough speed to keep up with changes in technology and the broadband cable technology also holds room for further improvements in speed and bandwidth.

One interesting thing about broadband Internet service is that, as it becomes more popular, it can contribute to further growth and improvement of Internet programs. That is because, as more people have the capacity to use more advanced programs, there will be more of a market for innovations. Just as, if everybody was still using dial up there wouldn't be all sorts of online games and advanced social sites, if everyone had broadband cable Internet's potential, even more advanced applications would result. Already it is possible to see the effect of higher speed Internet services in the incredibly realistic graphics of online games and in the increased instances of workers telecommuting for their jobs.

Even though DSL can also provide some of the benefits that come from Comcast broadband cable Internet connection, DSL does not provide the same sort of speed or a similar level of service. Broadband cable Internet can deliver up to 8 Mbps download speed while DSL is limited to about 1 Mbps. This makes the cable Internet service a much better option for keeping up with current Internet applications and for forward-compatibility. DSL, because it is much slower, can still have problems such as slow download speeds for large files, rough video displays, and frustrating waits. Comcast's service is fast enough that these problems are virtually eliminated.

Broadband cable Internet is definitely proving to be the way to go if you live in an area that has the service. It has pretty much every advantage including low price, plenty of speed, and the ability to end Internet annoyances.
