If you love TV but also like to travel, Direct TV has a number of options that can allow you to have the best of both worlds. The first option is getting a Direct TV Digital Video Recorder with your satellite TV system. A Digital Video Recorder consists of a hard drive and special software from Direct TV that can be programmed to record video directly off of the satellite signal, and then play it back when you want to watch it. The software is intuitive to work with and allows you to program the machine to record specific TV shows and movies. It can also be programmed to automatically record every episode of your favorite TV show over the course of the season. It will even automatically continue to record every show of the series if it gets moved to a different time slot! A Digital Video Recorder will also record two channels at the same time, and allow you to pause and rewind live TV, so that if you get interrupted you don't have to miss any of your favorite show, sports game, or movie. A Direct TV Digital Video Recorder may sound a lot like a VCR, but it's superior in many ways. The fact that all of the programming is recorded onto a built in hard drive means that you won't have to find a blank video tape every time you want to record over something and that you won't have to worry about taping over the irreplaceable video of your parents wedding with "Scooby Doo" reruns. The fact that a Digital Video Recorder uses an intuitive on screen graphic user interface makes it much easier to program than the old fashioned VCR with it's tough to understand interface and poorly translated instructions. These features and others make the VCR obsolete.

There are actually two models of Digital Video Recorders you can get from Direct TV Deals. One is designed for use with standard definition television and can record up to seventy hours of programming. The other one is designed to display and record high definition television programming as well as standard definition television programming. It has a larger hard drive than the one that's strictly geared for standard definition television and can store up to two hundred hours of standard definition television programming or up to thirty hours of high definition television programming. Actual recording times depend on exactly what kind of programming is being recorded.

In addition to Digital Video Recorders, Direct TV has other ways of letting you enjoy travel without missing out on your favorite TV. For example, by installing Direct TV's TracVision A5 on the roof of your minivan, SUV, or limousine, and subscribing to Direct TV's Total Choice Mobile Programming package, passengers in your vehicle will be able to enjoy over one hundred and fifty five of their favorite channels on any road in North America that has a clear line of sight to the southern sky. The TracVision A5 is essentially a low profile satellite antenna that mounts to any vehicle regardless of whether or not that vehicle has a roof rack. The TracVision A5 from Direct TV is also compatible with any vehicle's video system, making it the perfect choice for traveling with long and short car trips with anyone who gets impatient in the car.

All of these options from Direct TV guarantee that you'll be able to enjoy your television even if you like to travel too.
