The situation with Comcast and other companies like it is superior because Comcast handles all of the services that it offers all by itself. In other words, if you have an issue with your digital cable TV service nobody will tell you that the broad band cable Internet service is causing the problem. Instead of passing the buck and playing the blame game, Comcast will just send a technician out to fix the problem no matter where it comes from or what's effected.
Another advantage of getting all of your telecommunications needs taken care of by one company like Comcast is that Comcast provides the best technology for the situation. For example, if you subscribe to digital cable TV and then decide that you want to add a high speed Internet connection, you won't be forced to go with an inferior type of technology like DSL. Instead it will make much more sense to get a broad band cable high speed Internet connection because you'll have a cable coming into your house anyway. Along the same line of reasoning, the fact that Comcast is fully capable of providing you with a phone line means that you won't be stuck with service from a traditional phone company. Service from traditional phone companies has been getting more and more expensive, while the type of phone service that Comcast Cable provides costs less and has built in features that will help you save money on things like domestic long distance calling.
In summary, while it's a good idea to sign up for a bundled service package for your home entertainment and telecommunications needs, it's a good idea to go with a company that can provide you with all of the services your looking for, rather than outsourcing those services to other companies. Sticking with one company for all of your needs will still save you money while providing superior customer service.
