There are many reasons to make the switch over to Direct TV from some other television service provider, but one of the most overlooked reasons is foreign language programming. Direct TV offers a wide variety of non English language programming that can be a great resource both for people who have immigrated from other countries and people who are trying to learn another language. Because Spanish is the second most popular language in the United States- after English- it's also the non English language that Direct TV puts the most effort into providing to its subscribers in the form of programming packages that mix Spanish and English language channels. The entry level bilingual programming package is Seleccion Extra. With thirty five Spanish language channels Seleccion Extra has more Spanish language programming than you can find anywhere else. These channels include favorites like TV Chile, Mexico 22, Sur Peru, Caracol TV Internacional, Cine Latin, and more. In addition, Seleccion Extra provides over twenty five English language channels.

The South Asian programming packages provide you with channels in a variety of South Asian languages. You can also select from any of three Chines language packages from Hong Kong, Mainland China, or Taiwan.

Direct TV's RussianDirect provides a great combination of programming like sports movies and news.
