By all accounts the Sony Play Station 3 is a superior video game system. It provides incredibly sharp and detailed graphics that can be displayed on HDTV sets at resolutions of up to 1080p. In fact, some reviewers of the device have commented on the fact that it provides such a realistic picture while playing some games, that they had to remind themselves that they were watching a video game instead of a video of live people!

Wireless technology has had a big influence on the design of gadgets in the past few years and has made the ability to access the Internet something that's now found on a huge number of devices that serve a variety of other purposes. Where desktop and then laptop computers used to be the only way to access the Internet and the World Wide Web, it's now possible to gain access to the huge amount of information that exists on the Internet through a variety of hand held gadgets as well.

Any company that brings a new product to market has to take risks in order to do so, but the biggest risk of all- the one that could make all of the other risks even more likely to come up and bite that company- is the possibility that consumers will meet the product with indifference. That's the situation that some TV industry analysts are anticipating with the new Apple TV from Apple Inc. (Formerly Apple Computer Inc.)

Taking accurate notes has always been a challenge for students, journalists, and writers. Gadgets like tape recorders and portable computers (laptop, palm top, tablet, and otherwise) have helped somewhat, but now digital audio technology lets note takers record lectures and interviews with ease. The gadgets that do this are a lot like souped up MP3 players. In addition to being able to play back audio in several formats, modern digital audio recorders can also record audio and even edit it either on the fly or by uploading it to a computer.

With the apparent victory of Blu-ray in the high definition DVD format war imminent, Blu-ray supporters have gone so far as to predict the future success of the format. Some Blu-ray backers have claimed that Blu-ray discs could become the standard- replacing standard definition DVD's- in as little as three years.

Video on demand has been the holy grail of TV technology for some time now. That's because video on demand, along with HDTV and ideally HD video on demand, are largely agreed upon to be the future of TV. There are a variety of models for how video on demand could work. Right now, video on demand services are available from Comcast digital cable as well as pay per view programming on available on an on demand basis through a variety of different companies, but none of them really follows the model of giving the viewer the kind of control that viewers want from video on demand.

There's lots of evidence that video on demand technology could be the next phase in the evolution of how we watch TV. After all, while it is enjoyable to just plunk down in front of the TV after a long day of work, think about the flexibility of being able to watch exactly what you want when you want to watch it.

People who love gadgets just can't have enough of them. After all, if one gadget is great, then a whole bunch of them must be even better. That having been said, there needs to be some limit on the number of gadgets that a gadget lover can have around or else it becomes too difficult to use and appreciate all of them. An ideal selection of the right number of gadgets has to be reached.

As electronic technology gets better, the ability of manufacturers to build more computing power into smaller gadgets improves as well. This has allowed smart phones and other portable gadgets today to be more powerful than full sized desktop computers were a decade ago.
