Comcast Cable is 18 million strong, serving families with cable TV programming, high-speed internet and digital phone services. These services provide families with quality entertainment and home communication options that help families stay on a budget they can afford and still get the products and services they need.
One of the services Comcast Cable offers their customers is the
Norton Security Suite by Symantec. This security suite can be used for Windows or for Mac and helps families protect the computer and themselves from harmful spyware, Trojans, viruses, bots, worms and identity theft.
The President of the Consumer Business Unit for Symantec, Janice Chaffin said, “Cyber threats are very real and this year we expect to see five new threats coming online every minute.” She further added, “By joining forces with Norton, Comcast can now bring world leading protection, performance and family safety offerings to its millions of customers.”
The Norton Security Suite for Windows, or the Norton Internet Security for Mac service for Mac users, offers a Two-Way Firewall Protection feature that safeguards the computer from threats at their point of intrusion with “behavioral security technology”. The Two-Way Firewall Protection feature is instrumental in prohibiting these threats from downloading or installing on the computer before they can do damage. The Norton software also has Identity Theft Protection, a feature that blocks against phishing and key logging programs, storing and protecting website passwords.
The Norton Security Suite and the Norton Internet Security for Mac service also provides concerned parents with Parental Control Tools that can help them monitor their children’s online activities. These Parental Control Tools provide a way to filter undesirable web content and keep an eye on specific search terms that have been used, information on social networks the children are going to and chat sessions. With the Parental Controls Tools, parents can ensure the internet is a safe place for their children to visit.
When Comcast Cable partnered with Symantec to bring subscribers the Norton software, Comcast Cable customers received a phenomenal deal. The Norton Security Suite has a retail value of $160, but Comcast Cable offers it for free. Comcast Cable wanted their subscribers to have a safe online environment to enjoy at a family-friendly price.
The Norton Security Suite and the Norton Internet Security for Mac service protects the user and computer, saving time and money and keeping an expensive home investment in good working condition. This security software by does this by cleaning or repairing the registry, and repairing other problems that slow computers down, allowing the computer to remain in good working condition and allowing users to continue their work while the software does its job in the background.
Symantec also provides professional customer service resources. These resources are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, reachable by phone, through email and by online chat, should the need for technical support ever arise.
With
Comcast Cable, subscribers get high-speed internet services, with professional, reliable technology that helps protect the family and computer from malicious attacks. Subscribers get peace of mind and freedom from worrying about potential threats and invasive programming.

Time Warner Cable has served communities for over sixty years with quality products and services, including cable TV programming, high-speed online services and digital phone services. Now, with their CAMM, or Connect A Million Minds program, Time Warner Cable is giving back to the communities that helped make them a success. Time Warner Cable has launched a campaign that seeks to take a pro-active stand in education for today’s students.
This program was launched to educate and encourage today’s youth in the applications of science, technology, engineering and math, otherwise known as STEM. The program was launched due to a decline in the skill level and proficiency of students in these academic studies, leading to concern for the skill levels of the up and coming workforce. Time Warner Cable hopes to accomplish this through several different media platforms, including the internet. They have set up a website at www.connectamillionminds.com. This site features information on current local events like science fairs and robotics competitions, as well as additional information on volunteers and even Time Warner Cable employees that are involved with the program.
The website also contains two videos that feature a flying car and “Project Natal”, the newest Microsoft video game. Time Warner Cable hopes to show the real life application of STEM in today’s technology, in a way that would help define the importance of what is being learned in the classroom. The videos feature the personal success and technological innovations accomplished through STEM.
Time Warner Cable‘s Director of Strategic Philanthropy, Tessie Topol said, “We want to remind kids and their parents that many of the things they consider cool require a background in STEM to work on. You can’t build a flying car if you don’t know anything about engineering and you can’t be on the team that is creating the coolest and most advanced video game ever if you don’t study math and computer science.“ She went on to say, “80% of the jobs that today’s kids will be applying for will require a high level of STEM education. The Connect A Million Minds (CAMM) program is designed to give kids and their parents easy ways to spark an interest in STEM. The CAMM website (www.connectamillionminds.com) contains an incredible amount of already available community programs that parents and their children can attend together. “
Time Warner Cable has committed $100,000,000 and five years to this project, to educate today’s students, encouraging, enlightening and inspiring the future workforce of America. Time Warner Cable allows interested parties to sign up for volunteering on their site and they want to encourage community leaders and parents to take the initiative with students or children that might need the encouragement to do more than what is required to pass their classes.
Time Warner Cable has provided
cable TV and other cable services to the public for over six decades, offering professional, family-friendly services. Now they strive to support and serve the community in a different way, bringing education and enlightenment to the next generation of scientists, technicians, engineers and math.

Cable TV providers can offer more services today than they were able to offer customers to begin with. Traditional cable TV providers could only offer cable programming packages with a limited amount of channels, and no extra features.
Today, while channels are still limited, the channel selection has grown to include over two hundred and seventy-five channels, with a wide variety of regular channels, digital channels and HD channels. Cable programming providers also have the capacity to offer other digital services like Video On Demand, a digital library that offers over 10,000 viewing selections other than those available on the programming package. These selections include network programming, additional children’s programming, music videos and newly released movies. These selections can be watched and saved for up to 24 hours after watching them. Some selections are offered for longer periods of time. Cable TV providers can also offer Pay Per View selections. These selections can include live sporting events and music events, helping viewers stay current with what their favorite athletes and musicians. Both the Video On Demand and Pay Per View selections can be watched with the DVR, or digital video recorder. The DVR enables the viewer to rewind, fast forward and pause the viewing selections, even if they are live events. Most cable TV providers even offer Parental Controls to keep young minds away from adult content and themes. The Parental Controls can block entire channels or individual programs, for as long as the parents think it is necessary.
Cable TV providers are also able to offer broadband high-speed internet services. These services are faster than dial up and DSL, offering incredibly fast speeds that are able to download large files like movies, music, videos and games. These speeds offer a faster, better way to surf, getting rid of the slow downloads and dropped transfers. A broadband connection never closes down or gets lost, so the internet is always on and ready for use. Cable TV providers also offer free online security software that helps to protect the family and computer from popups, viruses, spyware and identity theft. Some cable TV providers also offer Parental Controls for their online services, as well. These Parental Controls, combined with the free security software and incredibly fast speeds help parents create a safer, faster online experience the entire family can benefit from.
Another service now offered by cable TV providers is the
digital phone service, superior to traditional analog service for sound quality and service reliability. These phone services come with unlimited local and long distance calling plans that allow subscribers to call anywhere, at any time with no additional charges. Most cable TV providers list the United States and Canada as their calling areas, with some offering Puerto Rico, as well. These calling plans include important calling features like call waiting, call forwarding, three way calling and more. These providers can offer between 10-12 calling features and voicemail, with some companies offering instant online email notifications when a new voicemail is received. With this feature, a subscriber can check the voicemail from any location in the world, with internet access.
Cable TV providers offer a wide array of digital products that enhance any cable TV package. With the inclusion of broadband internet and digital phone services, cable TV providers can meet all of the basic entertainment and communication needs the family has.
